Alex is currently in his first year at the University of Otago, studying toward a Bachelor of Science, majoring in Psychology and Neuroscience. Alex has always been interested in how and why people behave they do, and is thoroughly enjoying the psychology taught at Otago. In the future, he looks to take his course either into the research or the clinical side of Psychology. Alex loves teaching, he finds it rewarding to see a previously complex idea be understood for the first time. He is enthusiastic about all he studied at school, and keen to pass on passion in all areas that he tutors. Alex is available to tutor in English, Science, Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Statistics, and Calculus.
Alex loves helping his students develop confidence in the tutored subject, as well as confidence in all areas of learning and education. His tutoring will vary to suit student preferences, but there will be a focus on subject content as well as useful exam and study skills. Alex will work to make lessons productive but interesting, he will relate content covered in lessons to the wider world, and to new areas being explored today. His goal is to help students enjoy, and be interested in, what they are learning about. In his spare time, Alex can be found with a camera in hand or on the pitch playing football. He is light-hearted and friendly, and excited about helping his students do well and gain confidence along the way.
